An iconic timepiece, this Omega Speedmaster 105.003, dating back to 1965, is the very model worn by astronaut Edward White during the first American spacewalk (EVA) in 1965. A true legend in watchmaking, its timeless design embodies the mythical character of NASA’s space missions.
This watch features a magnificent uniform patina on the indices and hands, further enhanced by the stunning ‘drop second’ hand and the sought-after ‘step dial’. The famous ‘Dot Over 90’ (DO90) is, of course, present on the bezel. Its original Hesalite crystal, remarkably well- preserved after 60 years, adds to its authenticity.
Powered by the legendary Omega caliber 321, a historic movement that runs flawlessly with excellent amplitude, requiring no current servicing.
With a case diameter of 39.7mm, this watch boasts an exceptional wrist presence, blending heritage and timeless design. Originally delivered with either a leather or steel bracelet, this particular model features a matte black leather strap, closely echoing the spirit of the Gemini 4 space mission on June 3, 1965.
A true holy grail for collectors of legendary timepieces.
